San Diego, CA – International library transformation company Soutron Global today announces further details of its support package for information professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the recent announcement of its free educational webinar series for librarians during the pandemic (you can read about the series on Marshall Breeding’s Library Technology Guides) comes the announcement of enhanced financial support for information professionals already engaged with, or whom may wish to partner, with Soutron Global.
“Part of the reason for putting on our free educational webinars on professional development for information professionals was a desire to give something back to the industry we have served for so long,” said Soutron Global CEO Tony Saadat. “It was important to me to provide librarians with access to independent industry experts on topics directly relevant to what their new day-to-day now looks like.”
However, Tony wanted to do more: “I called a virtual company-wide meeting and tasked my staff to find ways of taking that concept even further. I’m delighted to say we came up with the novel idea of donating 10% of our revenue to a fund to provide new clients with financial assistance as they partner with us at Soutron Global. Existing clients will also benefit from this fund via free consulting and training.”
This program will continue throughout the pandemic until the fund is exhausted. For new clients, the program will apply to our ILS – Library/KM/Archive Management System as well as our Discovery platform. Discovery offers a unified search of online databases and e-journals – something particularly relevant right now when staff are working in distributed configurations and access to print materials is not feasible.
