A component of the AGent Library Platform, the SHAREit library resource sharing system facilitates the inter-connectivity of consortia, providing you the ability to simultaneously interface with multiple ILS and ILL systems.
With flexible setup options and robust coverage/customization choices, whole states can participate and every library can tailor their settings to their own personal needs. No collection is too big or too small.
Streamlined requesting & smart workflows
Automated features like automatic request deflection, a smart Lender List Build and NCIP ILS integration save your staff valuable time. At the same time, highly customizable search and request defaults let every library work with their own favorite settings and layouts.

SHAREit supports SIP2 and NCIP to enable remote patron authentication to a local ILS patron file. Using CILL, patrons may initiate resource sharing requests from any ILS system.
Staff can block requests for locally-held titles, redirect to the local catalog to place a hold and place a hold directly in the local catalog (NCIP.)
Multiple levels of lender lists can be used to direct requests to preferred and network lenders, with eight load-levelling options for distributing requests.
Staff can initiate multiple numbers of request for the same title through one simple step, which allows libraries to support services such as book clubs and study groups with minimal staff involvement.
Libraries can pair Auto-Graphics products together to simplify workflows. For example, SHAREit ILL can be embedded into VERSO ILS in a relationship called Circulation-Interlibrary Loan Link (CILL). Thus, staff and patrons can search, place and process requests all in a single interface.
Unique clustered display groups multiple formats under appealing jacket art, making it easy for the user to find and request the title and format they want.
In addition, customizable interfaces make it easy to design home pages, forms and more specific to your library’s brand.
MARCit is a source of high-quality MARC records updated weekly with new records from the Library of Congress and other verified sources. Libraries can search, download and import high-quality MARC records – individually or batched – into their library catalogs.
MARCit’s flexible search interface allows the cataloger to search an unlimited number of databases on the search screen simultaneously and select a record from any of the result sets returned. A brief citation display for each result set assists in the choice of record.
When viewing a MARC record, Online Interactive Authority Control is available to validate all headings in the bibliographic record against national agency authority records. Copies of the related authority records are available for download if desired. Modifications can then be performed to the record according to the library’s local policies. The bibliographic record is then added to the download list.
MARCit can be purchased alone or bundled with Auto-Graphics' SHAREit.
We are the largest provider of state wide resources, the SHAREit system utilized by 16 U.S. States and the Canadian province of British Columbia. SHAREit has led the industry in online-based resource sharing since 1984.
NCIP (NISO Circulation Interchange Protocol) is a technical standard that enables a library’s circulation system to interact with one or more other circulation, resource-sharing or self-service systems.
A typical and manual borrowing workflow may include 22 or more steps. With NCIP, the number of borrowing steps is reduced by 50 percent to just 11 steps. On the lending side, the traditional manual workflow of 14 steps is reduced to 8 steps when using NCIP or 42% fewer steps. The detailed workflow comparison with and without NCIP is available on the NISO ISQ website.
The specific steps each ILL staff member performs may vary depending on local policies and workflow. However, this workflow reflects a typical borrowing and lending transaction.

Implementing NCIP saves significant staff time both for the individual local library and aggregated at the state wide or consortia level. The saved staff time can be directly translated into cost-savings for staff who would be freed to perform other library tasks. Patron satisfaction is increased because libraries are obtaining needed items more quickly as a result of more efficient and less labor-intensive workflow.
The quantified aggregated savings can be used to validate a substantial return on investment from the purchase and implementation of the NCIP-compliant resource sharing system.
Here is a more detailed review of staff cost savings.
Developed by Auto-Graphics, the NCIP Savings Calculator permits librarians at the state or local level to estimate the number of staff hours and thus staff costs, one or more libraries can save when implementing the NISO Circulation Interchange Protocol (NCIP) between the resource sharing system and one or more local circulation systems.
Our clients include thousands of users from over 70 countries from multinationals, governments, NGOs and Not-for-Profits to academic institutions.
SHAREit is a cloud-based resource sharing and interlibrary loan (ILL) platform developed by Auto-Graphics.
It facilitates seamless collaboration among libraries by enabling them to share resources efficiently, regardless of their individual Integrated Library Systems (ILS). SHAREit supports both virtual and hybrid union catalogs, allowing for dynamic Z39.50 searches or aggregated bibliographic records, respectively.
SHAREit offers a unified search interface that retrieves results from hundreds of libraries simultaneously. It allows for unlimited lenders per request, increasing the likelihood of fulfilling patron requests. Features like automatic request deflection, smart lender list building and NCIP ILS integration streamline the requesting process and save staff time.
Yes, SHAREit supports patron-initiated requests through SIP2 and NCIP protocols, enabling remote authentication with local ILS patron files.
This feature allows patrons to request materials directly, enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.
Absolutely. Library staff can initiate multiple requests for the same title in a single step, facilitating services such as book clubs and study groups with minimal staff involvement.
CILL is an integration between SHAREit and Auto-Graphics' VERSO ILS, allowing staff and patrons to search, place and process ILL requests within a single interface.
This integration simplifies workflows and reduces the need for duplicate data entry.
Yes, SHAREit features a clean, intuitive discovery interface with a unique clustered display that groups multiple formats under appealing jacket art.
Libraries can customize interfaces to align with their branding, including home pages and forms.
SHAREit has been adopted by numerous North American state wide systems, including Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Kansas and more.
For instance, the Arkansas State Library selected SHAREit to build a secure hybrid union catalog, facilitating resource sharing among libraries of all sizes and types across the state.
